Types of lies

By definition, to lie to someone is to tell a false statement with deliberate intent to deceive.

Exaggerations, fabrications, fibs, white lies, bluffing, big lies, lying by omission, and cheating, are just a sampling of the lies one can tell.

Lies can be places under two categories; the lies we tell others and the lies we tell ourselves. We lie to others for multiple reasons. We might want to avoid doing something or we might fib to make ourselves look better. The lies we tell ourselves are a little darker. We hide from ourselves and we try to avoid the truth. We tell ourselves things because we are in denial or too scared to deal with something head on. Some believe it is human nature to lie.
